Information Visualization
Information Visualization with Steve Duenes (Spring 2010) and Nicholas Felton (Spring 2011).
Students were asked to visualize a section within the permanent collection at MoMA or the Met. Or, they may visualize a single sporting event or season. Or, a personal collection of their choosing.

Nike+ Visualizations
Information Visualization with Nicholas Felton.
Using data from Nike+ users in New York City who tracked their runs, students paint a portrait of runners and bicyclists on the move in NYC.

A Semester in Review: Prototyping User Experiences
Prototyping User Experiences with Robert Fabricant, Josh Musick, Clay Wiedemann, and Jeff Hoefs.
Students were asked to produce a video to reflect on the use of prototypes in the design process. They talk about the project they did during the class, challenges they faced, and share some valuable tips and techniques.

Using Data to Walk, Run, or Bike in NYC
Design in Public Spaces with Jill Nussbaum.
Students were asked to create a networked, mobile, or interactive installation that used sport tracking data to improve the experience of either biking, running, or walking in NYC. They were asked to consider how athletic data might be used to create awareness for athletes that share the city streets, affect transportation policy, or improve overall city health.

Entrepreneurial Design
Entrepreneurial Design with Rebekah Hodgson.
Students in the Entrepreneurial Design presents product and service design solutions that aim to connect personal passions with socially conscious endeavors.

NYC BigApps
Interaction Design Fundamentals with Chris Fahey.
In response to the NYC BigApps challenge, students researched the changing role of ubiquitous computing in urban environments, specifically in New York City. Each student was asked to design a mobile application using at least one source of data from the NYC.gov Data Mine.

Designing Local Currency
Communicating Design with Jason Santa Maria.
Students were assigned the task of designing their own local currency. Inspired by Ithaca Hours and BerkShares, students pulled a neighborhood out of a hat, and were asked to research their neighborhood to determine what characteristics should be represented on its currency.

Cybernetics Final Project
Introduction to Cybernetics and the Foundations of Systems Design with Paul Pangaro.
Students were asked to present analysis and critique of interactive systems, service design, and design processes using the cybernetic model.
